Every once in a generation, Nature bestows upon a people a character that will be for them as a flaming torch to a community of lost wanderers on a cold dark night. Beyond its obvious use in providing light that they may see, the torch provides warmth such that the chill of the night is forgotten, if not forgiven. It also, more subtly, serves as the bond that knits the travelers together. Stay close to the light and you cannot be far from the group. Keep the light of the torch within sight, and you can never really be lost.
Amakeze Michael Chigozie is our own flaming torch. I need not say more. His Facebook posts - some of which I could not resist grabbing and putting up here - tell it all.
